As much as we love traveling to new destinations with friends, there’s nothing quite like visiting romantic destinations with your partner. Whether that’s a weekend or a week, there are certain places that just have that it factor when it comes to traveling as a couple.
Whether it’s wandering through a cute European city, getting a taste of nature or relaxing on a beach this list has something for everyone. The list below is our roundup of places that we’ve traveled to.
Castries | St. Lucia
I think the most romantic destination Ben and I have ever traveled to was to St. Lucia for our honeymoon. While we aren’t typically the the kind of couple that lays out on the beach but this but this was absolutely worth it.
We stayed at a resort called The Body Holiday where there were all sorts of activities and workouts we could do every day. Plus the food was absolutely divine. The island of St. Lucia is also gorgeous. Definitely try your hand at snorkeling beneath the Pitons for an unforgettable experience.

The boutique hotels in the area are stunning and exceptionally cozy. Take a tour on one of the boats to get a different view of the buildings from below. Afterwards follow up with lunch on one of the open patios with some tasty wine from the Alsace region.

Vik | Iceland
If wandering through cities isn’t your thing, then Vik makes for a great romantic destination. While you can’t really lay out on the black sand beach, it’s a really cool spot to walk along and take photos.
One of the best things I loved about Vik was the accommodations. I absolutely fell in love with tiny homes after our visit to Iceland. It was so perfect hiding out in a small cabin in the middle of nature with a bottle of red wine and delicious homemade food.

I don’t know what it is but there is something romantic about a city situated along canals. This small city in Belgium makes for a great romantic destination. The small winding streets and beautiful buildings make it a great spot to wander around and explore.

The other thing I love about Quebec City is the architecture. The entire city has been classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Wandering through the old streets you will feel like you’ve been transported to somewhere in Europe. No trip is complete without embracing your inner child and taking part in the giant toboggan ride near Le Chateau Frontenac!

Ubud | Indonesia
Of all the romantic destinations on this list, Ubud is one of my top. Ironically though, I didn’t travel here with Ben! The small city of Ubud almost feels intimate. Surrounded by lush green rice fields, and stunning architecture you’ll find it hard to leave this paradise.
One of the best thing about Ubud, and Bali in general, is the cost of living is so cheap. You can get a stunning villa or hotel room for cheaper than you would anywhere in North America. Which means, you can experience the best of a luxurious vacation without having to break the bank. Whether it’s getting spa treatments, yoga classes, walking through rice paddies or eating healthy and delicious meals, Indonesia is a top choice.

Cotswolds | England
If you’re a sucker for classic British literature and romance then you’ll love this spot. The Cotswolds are everything you would imagine the English countryside to be. Spend your days wandering through the little villages, having afternoon tea in the little shops or going for walks through the lush countryside.
We loved the thatched (straw) roofs perched on top of little cottages, the rolling hills and most importantly the pubs! The most famous spot to check out in the Cotswolds is Arlington Row or Bourton-on-the-water. Make sure to enjoy a nice meal in one of the local restaurants and grab a pint at the nearby pub!

Great post! I love that you added Bruges, it’s one of my favourite cities in Belgium. Perfect for romantic strolls around the small streets and along the water.
