Boston has been on my must-see list for quite some time. From what I’ve read the blend of history, architecture and nightlife it’s not a city to miss. Obviously its close proximity to Toronto doesn’t hurt its appeal either!

I’ve put together a Boston wish list has a set up for when I eventually do go. I always love making lists of places I haven’t yet been.

Fenway Park: Of course I couldn’t go to Boston without catching a Red Sox game at Fenway Park. While I’ve been to my fair share of Toronto Blue Jays games, there’s nothing quite like the Red Sox. Fenway Park is the oldest stadium in the MLB having been built in 1912. I would love to eat a hot dog in the summer while watching a game!
Hotel nearby: Hampton Inn and Suites Boston Crosstown Center. If I was looking to stay close to the park, this hotel is reasonably priced and very modern looking. Plus it has a free shuttle that takes you to a lot of major attractions in the city.

Boston Common: The Boston Common is a public park located near downtown Boston. Dating all the way back to the early 1600s this park is the oldest one in the United States! It’s 50 acres large and looks like it would make a great place for running.
Hotel nearby: Hotel Commonwealth is located 7 minutes away from the park by car. The hotel exudes luxury; everything from it’s bed linens to it’s detailed exterior. While a night here would be expensive, it looks like it would definitely be worth the money!

Boston University: Even in Canada Boston University is well known. As the largest employer of Boston, the city takes great pride in the institution that holds almost two hundred years of history. Plus when you have a student list with Martin Luther King Jr.’s name on it, well, that’s pretty damn hard to beat.
Hotel nearby: The Boston Marriott Cambridge would be the closest hotel to the university. With a roof-top garden, on-site sports bar and an ice rink in the winter, I doubt I would be bored staying here. If you’re lucky enough you’ll even get a room with a great city view.

Freedom Trail: Probably the most infamous tourist activity to see while visiting Boston is the Freedom Trail. The trail is just over two miles long and passes through many of the cities significant locations. I think it would be incredible being able to walk through such an important pathway of history.
Hotel nearby: Courtyard by Marriott Boston-Cambridge would be the best choice nearby this famous landmark. I like the looks of this restaurant because it has two on-site restaurants and even a 24-hour market. Plus it’d be hard to beat the great views of the Charles River and city.

Boston College: Another educational institution that is well known. The campus looks absolutely gorgeous with it’s beautiful campus square and architecture, it looks like it could be right out of a movie. I would love to stroll through campus and people watch.
Hotel nearby: The Crowne Plaza Boston-Newton would be the best choice nearby the college. Its reasonable price is what draws me to this hotel. The heated pool, and close proximity to other attractions doesn’t hurt either.
