I mean really who doesn’t want to find the best views
Views of Toronto and the skyline are as iconic as some of the major cities in the world. Toronto has such an incredible and ever changing landscape that it’s hard not to fall in love.
The combination of city skyscrapers, old architecture and of course the CN Tower make it the perfect backdrop to so many photos. I feel as if I don’t give enough credit to my hometown.
With so many different vantage points, I thought I would put a few of the best views of Toronto together for you.
The view from the Toronto Island ferry
This is my
Make sure you sit near the back of the ferry on the way over to the island and the front of the ferry on the way back to Toronto mainland for the best views of Toronto. If you have time, take a trip during the day and at night so you can really see what the city has to offer.
The view from the Thompson Hotel
Hosts of the 2016 NBA All-Stars and many celebrities during TIFF, the Thompson Hotel has gained popularity and for good reason: their rooftop. Looking out from the infinity pool is quite literally one of the best views for Instagram in Toronto.
Because it’s nestled in the Queen West district, there aren’t too many skyscrapers around (yet) making the view unique. Whether you’re snapping the skyline on the East side or the sunset on the west, you’ll love every minute of it. You can’t visit the rooftop unless you’re a resident of the suites or a guest in the hotel so the views are pretty exclusive.
The view from the CN Tower
Of course, no trip to Toronto would be complete without a ride up the CN tower. This is especially true if you’re looking for the highest vantage point. As a local, I’ve only done this a handful of times (it’s damn expensive) but it’s definitely something worth doing.
Rising to the top of the viewing deck, you will get a chance to see everything in and around the area. If you’re not too afraid of heights, walk around the outside of the building to get a view of the water and the city below.
The view from Humber Bay bridge
You’ll have to travel a bit outside of the city for this view but I promise it’s worth it. If you walk along the waterfront it’s about a 4-5km walk/bike ride/run from the downtown core. Eventually, you’ll come to a big white bridge. This bridge connects the Etobicoke condos with Toronto for commuters and offers some breathtaking views.
The best shots from this angle are taken first thing in the morning so you can get the sunrise from behind the skyline. You can also visit at night for sunset but because you’ll be looking East, it’s better in the mornings!
The view from the Bathurst bridge
I love this view of the city because I used to pass it every day on my way to work. While it’s sometimes ruined by the incessant honking during rush hour, the Bathurst bridge still makes for one of the best views for Instagram in Toronto.
The bridge is positioned over train tracks so the views you get are unobstructed. It’s a great shot of the Cityplace condos combined with the CN Tower and the Rogers Centre.
The view from Billy Bishop
Now I don’t actually mean the view from inside the airport. No what I actually mean is the view from the planes that fly in and out of Billy Bishop airport. There are only 2 airlines you can take from Billy Bishop: Air Canada or Porter Airlines. Unless of course you are flying privately, in which case I’m jealous.
This might take a bit of planning in advance but if you time it correctly you’ll get lucky. The view from the window seat facing the skyline is incredible. I’m torn whether or not it’s better at night or during the day!
