photos in strasbourg

I’ll be honest, 30 photos of Strasbourg are hardly enough to put in one post. When I started drafting this blog post I actually edited over 100 photos. I spent one day in Strasbourg and probably walked away with over 500 photos. The place is absolutely magnificent.

Set in the Alsace region of France, Strasbourg is on the larger scale of towns for the region. Yet, coming from a big city like London or Paris, it’s manageable. One day is definitely enough time to spend in the city and see everything you want to.

If you’re going to visit, I would say plan to spend most of your time either walking around or grabbing drinks at little bars and restaurants. Sitting in Le Petite France and the older region of the city is the perfect spot for chilling and people watching.

There are so many boutique hotels that you can stay in when you’re visiting Strasbourg but we decided on one just a short walk away from the city centre. We stayed at the gorgeous (and super modern) OKKO hotel. The rooms were exactly the size you would need when you’re spending so much time walking around. Plus they had free breakfast AND happy hour. I mean really you can’t get much better than that!

I also didn’t find the Alsace region to be too badly priced. Meals, alcohol and hotels were reasonable. However, this is us having just come from Switzerland and venturing onto Luxembourg so perhaps we were a little biased.

The one recommendation I would have for you is to make sure you have tons of room on your phone or camera because believe me, you’re going to be taking tons of photos. It was like every turn was another opportunity for beautiful shots.

If you want to make sure you get photos with as few crowds as possible, get up super early! I always find this is the best way to get a first taste of a destination before the hoards of other tourists around. Yes, it can be a pain in the ass getting up early when you’re on vacation but I promise it’s worth it!
